New Millenium Book Distributor was started in Lansing, MI in 2014 on a college campus. We observed that there was a need for books that represented the under-served communities. We started doing book fairs at schools, civic and community events.
The company started online.
We tried storefront and “Pop-up” locations. The most effective way to give exposure to the public has been the Pop-up direct sales and online sales. We have had many different venues for our Pop-up sales. Lately we are focusing on Eastern Market in downtown Detroit, MI. Saturday and Sunday from 9AM to 4PM, June to October. We have special events during the winter season.
Mission Statement
Our mission at New Millenium Book Distributor is to give the under-served and all youth and adults information, adventure, and education. We want everyone to be included and see stories, heroes and others that look like themselves. We want to expose children and adults to everyday life experiences and extraordinary experiences and adventure. We want to provide education and knowledge to everyone. We have a focus on African American and the African Diaspora worldwide. We do have many stories and adventures for many cultures and all cultures worldwide.
